The moving heads respond well to sound activation, and the beams are bright enough to cut through light fog, creating a layered effect that felt like a mini dance floor. Our young son immediately started dancing in front of it, which says a lot about how engaging the movement and colors are. The unit feels solid, and the included mounting bracket made setup straightforward.
Compared to static party lights, the motion and spread of this one made the room feel much more active without needing constant adjustment.
The trade-off is that it’s more effective in dimmer spaces, so it won’t have the same impact in a brightly lit room with out some haze. I gave it 5 stars because it delivered reliable performance, good build quality, and strong visual impact for parties. the remote control was basic but easy to use color optionbs worked well
It works exactly as advertised, full functionality can be seen in the product videos. It actually works way better than what I expected. I tested this first by itself to run through the various features. You can manually select what to display, set it at random, you can even set this to be sound activated. One thing to note when using the sound activation it will not start until the sound hits 80 decibels. I tried setting the sensitivity lower but I could not get it to activate until I cranked up the volume some. I run my home studio right in the mid 70s so not to damage hearing. On sound activation this worked great cycling through various different scenes.
After testing this I hooked this into my DMX System, from there I was able to control it remotely and sync it with my other lights. However I did have some issue getting it to be a slave or master with a different manufacturer. Which is ok a lot of them do this. I just set it up with its own channel. I am assuming a second one would allow slave and master to work between them. Also it does come with cables and remote but I did not test them, they are not very long. They do use a normal standard XLR connection for slave master, and standard C13 power cable. Nothing proprietary. These are also professional grade, they will get hot, this should be mounted solidly to a rack or truss system. There is an onboard fan as well so make sure there is plenty of air flow. Again I only ran one single light and it was impressive, but I will definitely be getting a second. Maybe 2 more if we do larger shows.
THIS ONE is a little different, though. Most of these 6 arm, king kong style lights are exactly the same... this one they added a LED HALO ring that adds an additional dimension to the show, and that makes a word of difference!
This light is really fun to watch! In automatic mode, you get to see a wide variety of special features as if spins, whirlys and throws beams all over the place.... Then the BRIGHT strobes comes on, and wow... RED lasers GREEN lasers... (They call them "starlights") so much light! This isn't just a party light, this light IS the party..
But then reality sets in.. It IS a party light. Not ruggedly built, not really roadworthy for rock and roll shows... it's plastic, and not the good kind that they make power tools from. It's more fragile than that.
SURE you can use it for a club install, hung up out of harms way, it's DMX controllable and is super capable when controlled that way. Just don't use it on a tour and you'll have fun with it. The beams are REALLY great when used with fog or haze.
But lets talk about the lasers. The red one isn't very bright, and the green one is even less so. They are fine for your living room at a party, but in a larger venue I wouldn't expect much out of them. The green laser is difficult to see even with haze and fog.
I still have to give it 5 stars, because it IS fun. It's a 5 star party light, for sure. The addition of the HALO ring makes it even better!
However, that doesn't mean I can't still light up the night to welcome in 2026 on New Year's Eve, making a splash with over-the-top lighting. The FLASHBACK EVENTS 6-ARM 150 W RGBW BEE-EYE SPIDER MOVING HEAD DJ LIGHT is exactly what I need to light up my house to a full-on party vibe on New Year's Eve.
I have never been a DJ, but I know that when the special effects lights are beating in time with the music, it makes you want to dance. This multifunction light station does that and a whole lot more. Before I ordered it, I took the time to research all the things that this light is capable of and what I should be looking for to light up a house, a stage, a dance venue, or a stadium. I learned a lot.
This FLASHBACK EVENTS LIGHT meets a lot of the expectations that DJs, who are all about creating an atmosphere that inspires a crowd, will want in a venue light. DJs often mentioned that they want the ability to program their show lights to exhibit special effects of their choosing. That makes sense to me, and these lights have that capability.
It was just as important to me, with no knowledge or even awareness of programming lighting effects, to have a light that would do all the special effects without the necessity of programming it. This light does that by virtue of an included remote control. I am able to run it through several preset modes and individual special effects without the need to learn how to program it. But it can be programmed, and the programming doesn’t really sound that difficult. It also seems like rather than buying a light controller, you can use your laptop as a controller by downloading DMX software. This probably means your phone will work too.
I spent hours putting this amazing spinning, whirling, flashing contraption through its paces. It is impressive. You can have it respond to sound, or not. You can choose the colors of the lights, adjust the speed of the switch-ups, and set the configuration of the lights and the modes. This is all without requiring you to learn DMX, which is the industry standard and how you program this light to run an original configuration.
The manual is minimal—a couple pages at best. Some of it was cautions. I plugged it into the power outlet and grabbed the included remote, and I was off and running. The ease of use is phenomenal. This light is capable of enhancing atmosphere effortlessly. I am excited about this. I feel like Santa just left me a really awesome cool toy that I had no idea even existed until I found it hidden under the Christmas tree. Oh, what fun! And I am not kidding: this light is a blast!
Even my mechanic husband, who hardly ever gets excited about gadgets, was impressed by this one.
Great addition to your DJ/band equipment for parties. It's going in the workout room for now as it's a wonderful motivation with any and all of your dance/workout beats.
