Definitely a "party" device with decent RGBW LED light output, and also having a combo of red & green lasers, white and amber strobe, 6-rotating RGBW heads, and a central rotating 4-bee-eye RGBW head. Also, unlike other units, this one has full control control options, either via, manual control, remote control, and via DMX for modes that if selected, do not incorporate the lasers, or the strobe (for events where some of the guests may be neurologically sensitive to strobes). This issue has stopped me from using my other similar models that I keep on the shelf, and boxed-up (i.e. unused!).
The User Manual (included in my pix) is not very well done, but is accurate for 2 of the control modes (hand-held remote control, and via DMX control). The documentation for the front panel control is very lacking in detail. IN ADDITION, if you closely examine the documentation you will see that the DMX control has no option to control overall speed of any of the "auto" or "macro" functions! I checked all possible DMX channels and none will control the speed. Only the front control panel, or the hand held remote control can affect an "auto" run speed. The manual front panel control does have ability to select "auto" modes of A1, A2, and A3, as well as 2 different sound modes. The "A" series is for limiting the lasers, or strobes! Yes - intelligent design! The difference between the sound modes is a common feature that either changes the sequence of operation with the beat of music (but some LEDs are always on), or alternatively emits no light when there is no music, and also changes the sequence with the music.
FYI, there is a hidden menu option when it displays "Show" that if held down long enough enables controlling/adjusting the base rotation angle of the rotating heads (in case one of them gets out of whack).
Teardown: VERY compact internals, but properly assembled with anti-vibration materials on all connectors. From the attached pix, you can see there are two fans in the bottom, and ample vent holes on the top - resulting in virtually no temperature rise during operation! Plenty of heat dissipation fins on the bottom.
Usage : Best if mounted or suspended from the ceiling and the walls and floor not too dark color. Fog, or better yet, haze would bring it up to a whole other level! However, on its own - still is a very nice fixture - even if placed on the floor, or better yet, a tall table. Included is a free light fixture clamp that is far, far more robust that is needed by this light-weight fixture! Also included is a short DMX cable that is nice for testing with a DMX controller, but not a very useful operating length. IMHO
In summary: GREAT party light fixture with lots of control options (but DMX control is somewhat limiting) - so do not lose the remote control.......
